How to Fix Cloudy Hot Tub Water

Shock. Add a non-chlorine (MPS) or chlorine shock per label for your tub volume. Leave the cover off for 20 minutes to let oxidation byproducts gas off.
Filter hard. Run the pump on high, jets on, for 2–4 hours. Filtration is what physically removes the haze.
Clean the filter. Rinse thoroughly; if it's been 3–4 months, soak it overnight in filter cleaner. If it's over a year old, replace it.
Still cloudy after 24 hours? A water clarifier can coagulate fine particles so the filter catches them. If the tub is over 3–4 months since a refill, drain and start fresh — old water accumulates dissolved solids no chemical can remove.
